Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently seeking to employ a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor for the Abu Dhabi office with strong experience of both pre-contract and post-contract services.

The role will involve:

• Direct client facing at both stages of the project delivery, reporting into our Regional MEP Director.

• Leading the Abu Dhabi office based MEP team, taking responsibility for the management of workload, resourcing and output, reporting into our Regional Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the AbuDhabi office MEP measurement team for pre-contract services; including the preparation of feasibility studies, cost planning and estimating, bill of quantity production, tender evaluation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations, peer reviews, cost data-base input, value engineering, risk management etc., in addition to the day-to-day management of the MEP team, taking responsibility for output and quality of work, mentoring and training staff etc.;

• Managing post-contract MEP delivery across multiple projects, for project specific deliverables / duties and for delivery of large scale mega “Lifestyle” project at both pre and post-contract stages;

• Client point of contact for specialist MEP project delivery;

• Post-contract MEP services: commercial management of contract (POMI, FIDIC Red Book Contract), contract administration (contractual and commercial correspondences, claims, delay analysis etc.), interim valuations and payment certificates, variations analysis, recommendations and management, performing risk and value management and cost control functions, undertaking costs analysis project work, identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks, compilation of detailed progress/ cost reports, weekly and monthly reporting to client representative on all commercial issues, heading commercial meetings, understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying from recognised UK university, or other RICS accredited qualification;
• 8 - 10 years pre and/ or post-contract relevant experience in contracts and commercial management;
• MRICS is essential;
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 3 years;
• Previous experience of FIDIC Red Book Contracts is preferred but not essential;
• Knowledge in the use of QS software CostX or similar is preferred, although not essential;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Independent worker who can lead teams of commercial staff;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
