Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose
To manage and maintain functional corporate computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring and optimizing network performance.

Key Performance Areas / Key Performance Indicators

ICT Network Administration
• Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
• Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, output, and latency.
• Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
• Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
• Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
• Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
• Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Ensuring effective installation, configuration, operation, maintenance of system hardware/software and related infrastructure in both ZMI office & vessels, and ensure timely reports of Data center infrastructure as required.
• Provides continuing innovation within infrastructure by making recommendation for improving company IT system.
• Ensuring system hardware, software, operating system and related procedure adhere to organizational values.
• Carries out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities, configure /add new service as necessary.
• Plans, manages & liaises with end users with regards to UAT of new IT services, user training, user post-training evaluation.
• Plans/organizes or conducts/presents on relevant IT aspects via workshops/seminars for certain users as needed.
• Provides feedback and reports to HOD with regards to users’ problem/complaints in terms of registry, time needed to solve the issue, quality of service, recommendation & improvements needed.
• Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures, coordinate and communicate with impacted department.
• Supports ZMI employees with some of their daily routine basic computer needs such as setting up new user and managing back up, security and password.
• Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment with daily/weekly/monthly reporting as required.
• Contributes to and maintains system standards.
• Ensures all ‘IT Help Desk’ emails, calls etc. are actioned, logged, tracked and escalated.
• Ensures the high availability of the production environment.
• Develops and assists in the management and performance monitoring of the environment.
• Evaluates, implements, and integrates new hardware and software products and services.
• Monitors processor utilization and develops models for processor sizing and workload distribution.
• Develops, documents and distribute production operational processes.
• Contributes to finding improvements in the hardware, software or infrastructure related services.
• Undertakes other tasks which may be assigned from time to time by the Head of the Department.

Financial Control:
• Participates in ICT department’s annual business plan, annual budget and monitors and controls expenditure.
• Prepares budgets relating to the execution of works for ICT System modification and studies.
• Manages allocated monthly budget variance reporting and annual budget preparation on System management.
• Authorizes expenditure for repair and maintenance system management as per signatory level of authority.
• Drafts and provides input to ICT Manager for maintenance budgets for the administration and maintenance of ICT Systems.
• Checks that all invoices from sub-contractors accurately reflect the actual work carried out.
• Initiates cost saving measures by controlling expenditure and preventing wasteful activities.
• Ensures implementation of and compliance with Goods and Services request procedures.

Communication
• Maintains open channels of communication between all the ZMI business departments and Clients.
• Develops good employee relations and team spirit by consulting, advising, information sharing, motivating and establishing clear lines of reporting and ensuring delegation of duties is understood.
• Circulates information on Company policy and technical data by developing written instructions, and issuing corporate approved memoranda on all aspects of ICT Network matters within Company.
• Maintains and enhances the company professional image. Build sound relations with all employees, stakeholders and clients and maintains a harmonious work place.
• Responds to client and internal queries timeously and correctly.
• Builds a sound relationship with Clients and Vendors.
• Reports and follows up on defects and non-conformities.
• Provides detailed reports to the ICT Manager on ICT/ERP systems status, condition, spares, consumables and overall operations or serviceability as required.

Performance Management:
• Manages individual subordinate staff members’ performance and implements the ZMI’s performance management system.
• Ensures that all departmental staff are familiar in the use of the appraisal or performance management process.
• Manages, develops and motivates subordinates daily.
• Through counselling and guidance, cultivate a participative management approach.
• Applies the application of the performance appraisal process fairly and consistently.
• Ensures competency assessments for all subordinate staff are carried out prior to employment and at least every two years thereafter.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies

Qualification
• Degree/Diploma in ICT Network Administration and Management
• Or relevant Network Management, Support & Maintenance courses.
• ERP Administration certified training an advantage.
• CCNA
• CCNP

Minimum Years of Experience
• 5 years’ previous experience ICT and ERP Network & Systems Administration, Management or technical support.
