Job description / Role
About the role:
Develop a commercially attractive and financially sound network for the SkyCargo freighter fleet in which it complements the belly network. Maximises revenue and freighter fleet utilization through active dialogue with all internal stakeholders at global and regional level. Continuous monitoring of the freighter fleet network performance and recommend schedule adjustments where necessary.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the developing and maintaining the freighter network strategy for the short and long term by developing various network growth scenarios.
- Continuously review the network profitability and liaise with internal stakeholders on actions required to improve the network performance.
- Produce management reports regarding the network performance and lead the monthly Network Planning Meeting. This will involve liaison with internal, external departments and organisations.
- Coordinate with the Aeropolitical team of Emirates the air traffic and bilateral requirements for Emirates SkyCargo.
- Work closely with the Freighter Scheduling team on the feasibility of network changes whilst assessing the impact on utilization, slots, permits and maintenance requirements.
- Develop and implement network planning software to assist in network planning and aircraft deployment decisions.
- Continuously assess changes on the passenger schedules that may impact the freighter fleet deployment.
- Liasing with the SkyCargo RFS team to establish the most optimum trucking connections to facilitate wider distribution in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
- Maintain good relationships with government officials and ensure that necessary permissions and services relating to the operation(s) are up to date to facilitate an efficient service and the maximum commercial returns.
- Interact with the systemwide cargo sales departments and representative organisations to solicit feedback on requirements. Keep abreast with developments to optimise business opportunities and financial returns.
- Reconcile and report expenditures and revenues in periodic reports and management information systems to measure the rate of attainment against objectives.
- Develop long term plans and establish annual objectives for the SkyCargo scheduled services and charter operations. Allocate resources and manage the annual budgets for the cargo charter and RFS operations within the overall freighter operation budget. Define strategies to achieve the stated objectives and anticipate and arrive at creative solutions to face challenging situations.
Requirements:
Qualifications/Experience:
- University graduate with a minimum of 8 years in network planning experience at a large international airline, with a minimum of 3 years of freighter planning experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
- In depth knowledge of cargo operations and the cargo charter industry. Practical knowledge of cargo and economic affairs of an international nature. Specialist knowledge of weight and balance.
- Initiative to capitalise on business opportunities, excellent negotiating, and communication skills. The role involves handling multiple projects simultaneously and therefore involves making quick decisions, managing conflicting priorities within short deadlines and requires creative approaches to unexpected challenges.
