Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Network Specialist will be responsible for network and telephony administration and support for all existing and new site network and telephony infrastructure. This is a specialist role where network and telephony tickets that IT Support cannot resolve are escalated to.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Setup, monitor and maintain network devices and telephony infrastructure for existing and new sites.
- Network and telephony administration and support based on network architecture.
- Monitor and respond to network alerts to ensure business continuity at all times.
- Ensure all network and telephony devices are up to date with latest patches.
- Implement security best practises as per Network Architect recommendations.
- Polycom, call accounting, proxy and web filter administration to support business requirements.
- Riverbed administration and support for site optimisations.
- Assist in the network setup of CCTV devices where required.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES/SUCCESS CRITERIA:
- No network or telephony downtime due to issues in our control.
- All network and telephony major incidents resolved same day.
- Alerts set up on all network devices to notify of any errors/warnings.
- Maximised network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, collaborating and upgrading.
- All Polycom video conferencing calls successful with no issues.
- No BlueCoat proxy, Barracuda web filter and Riverbed warnings and errors.

Requirements

- BSc in Computing related degree.
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator preferred.
- Certification in ITIL a bonus (foundation level).
- 4 to 7 years of experience in a similar role a must.

- Service Delivery, Root Cause Analysis, Network and Telephony Deployment, Riverbed, BlueCoat Proxy, Barracuda Web Filter, Polycom, Cisco Router, Cisco Firewall, Cisco Access Control Server, Wireless Controller, Avaya Telephony, Proteus Call Accounting, Security, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuation.
