Job description / Role
Our client, an investment company is looking for a New Business Venture Director who will support the origination, development, due diligence, and implementation of commercially-oriented investment opportunities that support the company’s objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Stakeholder management
• Lead new business development efforts, including maintaining detailed pipeline of prospects and potential projects/deals and external sources
• Establish and maintain industry business relationships to generate on-going deal flow
• Qualify potential investment/JV opportunities with the input of the Investment Committee
• Develop investment thesis, author investment memorandums
• Serve as a primary negotiator for approved transactions
• Lead due diligence, direct transaction execution team and coordinate transaction closing
• Work with external capital providers to gain support for investment financing
• Post-closing: interact with the management of JVs/Investments, monitor performance and report internally on regular basis
• Hire, oversee and train investment team members as appropriate
• Managing and leading multiple projects and due diligence efforts concurrently
Requirements
• Relevant professional experience in investment banking, private equity.
• Direct investing experience with a private equity fund, institutional investor, sovereign wealth fund, or similar entity, with a focus on investments preferred
• Strong practical experience in structuring, negotiating and monitoring investments and transactions
• Strong understanding of and experienced in building financial models for valuations and financial returns analysis
• MBA, Masters in Finance
• Proven new business origination, negotiation and deal closing history
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting or other similar investment roles.
• CFA Level 3 – Desirable
