Nursing Unit Manager - Maternity (Mother and Child Services)

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Nurse Manager for Maternity Services for Mediclinic Al Jowhara in Al Ain.

Mediclinic Al Jowhara Hospital is the city’s most premium healthcare facility offering a broad range of clinical services in a five star setting. Amongst other medical and surgical disciplines including orthopedic, general surgery, gastroenterology, bariatric and plastic surgery; Mediclinic Al Jowhara provides the very latest in obstetric and paediatric care supported by state of the art adult and neonatal intensive care facilities.

Unit or nurse managers oversee all aspects of operating a unit, from supervising midwifery and nursing staff to monitoring patient care. They need extensive clinical experience, prior administrative experience, and training in both midwifery, nursing and management. They also need strong communication skills, diplomacy and the ability to take leadership of any situation.

Applicants must already be a registered midwife or nurse with a significant senior or managerial level experience. Candidates with at least 3 years senior experience in midwifery and maternity setting AND 2 years managerial role or high level leadership role is essential.

Requirements

• Qualified Registered Midwife or a Nurse – Licensed as a Registered Midwife or a Nurse according to the UAE requirements
• Licensed in the country of origin
• Masters in Midwifery and/or Nursing or Healthcare Administration is a plus
• Management and clinical competence in maternity, midwifery settings is a must
• Accreditation experience will be highly noted
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills, as they relate to a medical setting
• Demonstrated understanding with regard to the nature of service culture and the process of building it
• Demonstrated ability to develop, allocate, and track budgets for the unit
• Demonstrated professional maturity and decision making abilities
• Well- developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Able to promote excellence in patient care through mentoring and quality management
• English language proficiency is a must and Arabic language skills would be an advantage
