Job description / Role
We are looking for an Operational Risk Manager, a person who is forward thinking, innovative and aware of disruptive technology and the associated risks for a bank in the UAE.
The Operational Risk Manager will primarily be responsible for assisting the CRO in developing and then maintaining operational risk policies. The responsibilities also include overseeing the key operational risk management activities, such as Operational Risk Event reporting and error resolution, Risk Control Self-Assessment, Business/project risk assessment as well as Key Risk Indicators. Also, the Operational Risk Manager will have to ensure risks inherent in new products, services and processes are assessed and mitigation actions identified and recommended to the respective Business Units. Working with IT and external vendors, the Manager will select appropriate and implement operational risk solutions and lead or participate in operational risk related committees as requested and provide quality risk management reports.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have to have a bachelor's or master's degree, with a minimum of 8 years of Banking experience, 5 of which in the Operational Risk field. Financial qualifications will be an advantageous skill. To be considered, the ideal candidate will have extensive Operational Risk management experience from the financial sector, with additional knowledge about digital banking products and channels, along with associated cyber security risks.
