Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The basic function of this position is to plan, direct and coordinate the various activities of Collection and Cleaning, to ensure abidance of the team to the company’s policies and procedures, and the safety and hygiene measures.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Is responsible for implementing the policies & plans developed by the Top Management, and for supervising & coordinating the activities of the Operations Section.
• Organizes and distributes work among his team, and supervises the implementation of work plans.
• Coordinates with the concerned, as per the adopted procedures to reduce the expenditure of budgeted resources during unanticipated slow periods.
• Suggests modifications on routing plans and container distribution aiming at the optimization of the refuse collection processes.
• Establishes work standards and amends the adopted plans to optimize operations.
• Conducts field inspections to determine site requirements, and to ensure the quality standards are well implemented throughout the project
• Prepares and organizes weekly meetings with his/her staff on pending matters, problems and action plans.
• Supervises all VC Unit Activities.
• Monitors the VC section’s operational budget.
• Monitors the VC section to ensure the compliance and implementation of Waste co's policies and procedures.
• Enforces his/her staff's compliance with all regulations regarding the dress code and uniforms.
• Prepares, monitors, and adjusts the operational budget.
• Ensures the abidance by the health, safety and hygiene procedures.
• Coordinates with the concerned departments to secure the provision of needed material.
• Assesses his subordinates' performance, and prepares a monthly bonus scheme accordingly.
• Assesses the training and development needs of his section's staff, and the staffing requirement and coordinates with the HR and Managing Director on the matter.
• Receives complaints and resolves them promptly; forecasts the needed material and manpower, assigns complaint to subordinates, and follows up on the issue.
• Prepares needed reports within operational scope as requested by management.
• Develops policies, procedures and instructions necessary to ensure effective planning, operation and control of the department’s activities
• Develops documentation necessary to ensure effective control of health, safety and environmental aspects of all activities and promote HSE awareness within the department
• Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself and staff reporting to him.
• Responsible for exercising due diligence towards the environment, health & safety of self & others in the organization
• Responsible for complying with the applicable HSE procedures, instructions, requirements, laws, regulations from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies and those applicable to his/her job requirements
• Responsible for reporting to his/her superiors’ occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect the environment, health, safety and company reputation.
• Reviews effectiveness of the QHSE system on a regular basis
• Performs other tasks as required.

Requirements

• Minimum University Degree with minimum 5 to 7 years related experience.
• English and Arabic are a must
• Proficient in MS Applications
