Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with an energy consortium who is looking to hire an Operations Manager (UAE National) to work on an operational combined cycle gas turbine power plant. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, daily production and output of electricity and water on the facility.
You will report to the Production Manager and ensure the plant is operated safely, efficiently and in compliance with all standard project documents including PWPA and Environmental License. You will manage 4 staff directly and 44 indirectly across all divisions, assisting with the training of new staff and developing existing staff through performance management and appraisal. You will develop and report on O & M budgets and keep efficiency, technical and plant records. You will develop quality assurance plans and safe methods of work alongside safe operational practices for O & M staff. You will monitor the quality of work through the CMMS system and provide guidance to the team for the efficient utilisation and management of resources.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have working experience of a CCGT and desalination process operations practice together with a strong understanding on QHSE management systems. You should have commercial understanding on budgets, cost control and working knowledge of commercial contracts and agreements. It is essential you have worked at management level on a power plant previously with a multicultural work force. It would be advantageous to have previous experience of commissioning and start-up of a plant.
