Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The job holder of this position is responsible for payroll processing, and ensuring the timely and accurate administration of employee compensation in accordance with established policies and within the required turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational

• Follow all relevant administrative policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Operational

• Implement activities under minimal supervision
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure case/issue is closed efficiently and in timely a manner
• Ensure adherence of companies/business units to Payroll processes
• Execute entries and follow-up of employees’ deductions, loans, additions, commissions, unpaid leaves
• Ensure new comers have been entered in the system
• Check coherence of staff allocation in the payroll versus budgets, division feedback, etc.
• Calculate the final dues for leavers or transferred employees in accordance with local laws and Group’s policies and procedures
• Check accuracy of information in final payroll report
• Process and issue employee monthly pay slips, and ensure their distribution to the employees Payroll Accountant Database Management Payroll Processing Auditing Data Management

Accounting Budget Management

• Prepare monthly salary entries and provision in accordance with accounting standards and principles and each BU’s requirements
• Prepare and maintain schedules required for a company’s annual audit: i. Bonus Provision ii. Indemnity Provision iii. Leave Provision
• Present, monthly, the updated full year salary and headcount
• Reconcile general ledger balances (balance sheet accounts) against manual schedules of provisions
• Conduct monthly review of subsidiary and general ledger balances related to salaries
• Conduct proper file maintenance - printouts or soft copy – in a safe and secure manner
• Conduct periodic calculation of employees’ variables
• Prepare budget data periodically (staff cost related to salaries per business unit)
• Participate in relevant projects and community activities as and when needed

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce
