The PE teacher will deliver a comprehensive physical education program, promoting athleticism and physical competence and confidence, skill development, and teamwork across various sports and physical activities. With access to state-of-the-art sports facilities and industry partnerships, the role will focus on developing students' athletic abilities, overall health and well-being, and sportsmanship through structured training and competitive opportunities.

Skills

Key focus areas include:

• Competitive and recreational sports - athletics, football, netball, basketball, swimming, fencing, and padel
• Health and fitness - strength training, endurance, flexibility, injury prevention
• Movement and coordination - gymnastics, agility training
• Sports leadership and strategy - coaching, teamwork, game analysis

Candidates with specialist expertise in any of these areas are encouraged to highlight their strengths. The PE teacher will also support inter-school competitions and extracurricular athletic programs while integrating modern training techniques to enhance student performance and engagement.

Person specifications

• Hold a BEd or bachelor's degree with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent
• A master's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Have proven experience of teaching PE to KS4/KS5 or equivalent
• Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice
• Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focused
• Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents
• Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching
• Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
• Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extracurricular programme and community-based events
