PHP Developer

Job description / Role

We are looking for a PHP Developer who is dedicated to the craft, writes code that they are proud of and can hit the ground running.

You will be a part of a full-stack creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing, testing and launching.
At least 5-10 years of development experience, good debugging skills and comfortable to work on individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities
• Write “clean”, well-designed code
• Produce detailed specifications
• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Follow industry best practices
• Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary.

Software Skills:

Front-End
• Web fundamentals like HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3
• CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS
• JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React, Vue, or Ember etc., or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower
• Libraries like jQuery or Backbone.js
• Front-end (CSS) frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap
• AJAX

Back-End
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete)
• RESTful Services
• MVC and OOP
• Database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Web server technologies like Node.js, J2EE, Apache, Nginx, ISS, etc.

Requirements

Requirements
• Proven software development experience in PHP
• Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc
• Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
• Frameworks related to their server-side language of choice like: Laravel, CakePHP, Symphony, or custom frameworks
• API design and development
• Server-side languages mainly PHP and at least basic knowledge of JSP
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas

• Current Location: Dubai
• University Qualifications: Bachelors of Computer Science
• Nature and length of previous experience: 5 years of experience as PHP developer.
• Specialist knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc.
• Soft Skills and Personality traits: Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas.
• Language Fluency: English
