Job description

GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking an outstanding and passionate male PE teacher to join our dedicated team in January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing, high-performing school that combines the National Curriculum for England with a strong commitment to UAE national values, identity, and culture. We are looking for a talented educator who can inspire students through a love of language and literature, foster creativity and critical thinking, and contribute to the continued success of our English department.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach and inspire students across various physical education activities and sports, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Develop and implement an engaging, ambitious, and inclusive PE curriculum aligned with the International British Curriculum standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subjects and whole-school initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during PE lessons and activities.
  • Maintain and manage PE equipment and facilities effectively.

Skills

Qualifications & knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in physical education or a closely related field, plus a recognised teaching qualification/licence (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

Skills & attributes

  • A creative and skilled classroom practitioner with a passion for PE and sports and high expectations for student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A reflective, flexible educator who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and school improvement.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years' teaching experience, ideally within the National Curriculum for England.
  • Experience teaching in an international or culturally diverse setting is advantageous.
