Piping Lead

Responsibilities

- Be part of PMT client team overseeing EPC contractors
- Oversee piping engineering work being carried out by EPC contractors for major greenfield and brownfield projects as part of the client's PMT
- Promote effective communication and challenge within the EPC contractors engineering team in order to foster the production of safe, cost-effective, fit-for-purpose and constructible piping designs.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making for piping engineering work carried out by the EPC contractors.
- Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance, direction, and support during the construction and installation activities.
- Liaise and report to the client's senior management on piping engineering progress and issues.
- Troubleshoot the piping design, identifying and resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator by raising and resolving site/technical queries.
- Attend daily/weekly engineering progress meetings and generate status reports as required.
- Manage change process including review of proposals.
- Assist construction personnel with general technical queries and details.
- Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Provide resolution for technical piping engineering problems; coordinate application of solutions.
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 5 years proven capability in an engineering design company.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and previous track record of successfully working in PMC team.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience of working for Wood is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
