Job description / Role
The Planning Engineer will have the responsibility of setting up the planning strategies and providing valuable information to execute the project in time and within the budget allocated. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in Primavera or Ms/Projects (Microsoft) and should have on-site experience in UAE working with contracting organizations.
Key Accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
• Develop, implement and maintain Project Planning & Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures in line with the proposal requirements.
• Develop preliminary schedules and identify project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
• Analyze monthly schedule submittals and prepare input into overall monthly Project reports consistent with the overall Project reporting system.
• Carry out Schedule Risk Analysis. Identify schedule slippages and potential slippages and develop and propose mitigation actions.
• Provide support to verify claimed monthly progress against invoices, variations and change orders.
• Work alongside Project Control function within the Project Management team, to ensure that project cost phasing is kept up to date in line with current forecasts.
• Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts
Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Profession or an Engineering related field.
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience of liaison with consultants on multiple construction contracts
• Fluent in spoken and written English and able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• PMP Project Management Professional Certified preferred
• The ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills.
• A customer-focused approach, possessing impressive communication skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives and the capabilities to meet tight deadlines.
• Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
• A proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
