Job description / Role
One of the most reputable regional contractors is seeking highly motivated Sr. Planning Engineers & Planning Engineers (with Focused experienced in building or Infrastructure Projects) to join their team in Dubai. The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Project Preparation: Participate in project preparation prior to submission regarding construction program, create the work breakdown structure (WBS), material procurement schedule, drawing schedule, cost loaded schedule, labor histograms and short-term programs.
- Maintenance: Prepare and maintain the project As Built Programme and closeout schedules. Maintain production rates for equipment and labour for all trades.
- Subcontractors: Review and evaluate the subcontractor’s schedules, reports and monitoring submittals in order to align the subcontracted items as indicated in the contract schedule.
- Project Reports: Run all necessary reports (weekly, monthly) to Project Manager, Engineer and Company. Track and update information required for weekly, biweekly and monthly reports in order to monitor and report any variances from planned productivities and targets to ensure compliance as per the contract schedule.
- Progress Deviations: Identify the slippages and areas of concern affecting the progress, highlight actual progress deviations from scheduled progress and the Baseline/ Approved Contract Schedule in order to analyse the impact to the over-all completion and advice on corrective actions to mitigate the delays.
- Collaboration: Maintain regular planning related collaboration and site construction meetings with engineers and subcontractors in order to discuss the status of the project.
- Post Construction Stage: Prepare action plans/recovery programme as a corrective action using the fast-track analysis or if needed crashing to overcome the culpable delays.
- Project claims: Identify program risks caused by other parties during the course of construction, advise project management for serving Delays Notices for construction claims and prepare interim particulars for EOT claims and relevant time Impact analysis schedules.
- General Tasks: Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Planning Manager.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Civil Engineering.
- Preferred certifications related to Project Planning/Management such as PMP, PMI-SP, PSP.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 planning software.
Minimum Experience:
- 5-7 years of comprehensive working experience in project planning in a construction company.
