Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for all specialist planning and scheduling functions, the role requires a planner with multi program-level experience together with extensive experience on complex projects to ensure the projects are managed and delivered in accordance with time, resource and performance requirements.

Client Details
Our client is an established private real estate and construction company based in the UAE. They are currently developing multiple projects in the region. Project typologies include hospitality, commercial and retail along with large-scale residential community masterplans.

Description
• Provide leadership and support and develop training for the planning and scheduling staff
• Prepare and maintain the Program Master Schedules
• Provide support, guidance and direction as required to the Project planners
• Lead workshops with client, consultant and contractors as required to develop coordinated schedules and recovery schedules where applicable
• Review critical milestones for the construction stage for inclusion in tender documents through detailed discussions with the individual project teams and undertake independent evaluation of interfaces between buildings/infrastructure
• Prepare monthly progress reports, multi-discipline dashboards and other ad hoc reports
• Produce Program cash flows in consultation with other Commercial team members
• Take the lead role and support project teams as required in their evaluation of extension of time claims, including concurrent delay, self-delay and make appropriate recommendations
• Support project teams as required in their evaluation of variation orders, including breakdown (labor, equipment & material)
• Prepare Program-level cost and resource loaded (labour, plant and material) schedules
• Evaluate in conjunction with the Logistics Manager, logistics plans submitted by the contractor or prepared by the project teams
• Provide earned value assessments and dashboard reports as required
• Resolve Program-level scheduling issues with key stakeholders
• Actively seek out schedule optimization opportunities together with project teams
• Lead project teams in their analysis of actual progress in the field to assist with the evaluation of progress planned vs actual, payment certification and claims

Requirements

• Well-developed leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Good communication skills including strong command of written and spoken English
• Must be pro-active, adaptable and able to motivate team members
• Able to set team priorities and motivate team members to meet critical time deadlines
• Able to interface with both clients and other inter-office disciplines at a senior level
• Excellent Primavera P6 skills
• Fully conversant with FIDIC form of contract, competent in financial and contractual matters
• Understand and be able to apply resourcing and cost to schedule activities
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, construction sequencing and logistics
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject (Engineering, CM, QS, design-related) or fields
• Significant track record of successful work
• APMP - Certified Project Management Associate
• Earned Value Foundation (APMG)

Experience: 10 years experience in a similar role
