Job description / Role
The Lifting Engineer will be responsible for operations, lift planning and maintenance of all spider (mini) crane and glass handling equipment in the region. Reporting to the Executive Manager, and in charge of the workshop and site technicians (with a total of 6 direct reports), you will ensure that confined space lifting jobs are planned and executed safely, effectively and in the quickest time possible and that equipment is effectively maintained, ensuring optimal hire capacity at all times.
You will also be responsible for ongoing and preventative maintenance of the lifting equipment in the workshop; minimizing equipment downtime, and maximizing availability through a combination of effective maintenance planning and on-site diagnosis of faults.
In addition, you will be involved in the training and development of workshop staff and operators, and have an active role in developing effective procedures for; maintenance, equipment fault diagnosis, and safe operating procedures.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
* 3-5 years of professional experience in plant hire/equipment maintenance and lift planning
* A bachelors degree in an engineering subject
* The ability to work in a multicultural environment, and across a broad and diverse client base including construction, oil and gas and power
* A thorough understanding of both lifting equipment maintenance (hydraulic, mechanical and electrical) and lift execution.
* The ability to work with minimal supervision and think outside the box in effective problem solving
* Enthusiasm, determination, and drive
