Job Description:
• Diagnosis, maintenance, repairs and operation of all Water tank, Irrigation and swimming pool filtration systems
• Fix plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, tightening loose toilet seats, refilling grout, repairing leaky spigots and faucets using appropriate techniques
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks
• Study building plan and inspect structure in order to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of pipe installations and plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring
• Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle using equipment such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines
• Install and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances (e.g., dishwashers, washing machines, water heaters, Water dispensers) and fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets)
• Perform miscellaneous civil repair works related to plumbing.
• Conduct daily inspections of the Water tank, Irrigation and swimming pool systems to ensure optimum operating conditions and prevent unnecessary interruption or breakdowns of operations.
• Ensure that appropriate service manuals, technical manuals and blueprints are utilized during preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of components
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning, lubrication and calibration if required
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, accidents, injuries or other safety hazards immediately to the Supervisor/Manager
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment
• Maintain proper maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed
• Comply with quality assurance expectations, best engineering practices and standards
• Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with School policies and procedures
• Ensure uniform, ID tags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with School policies and procedures
• Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing and employ correct lifting procedures to avoid injuries
• Follow our school specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies)
• Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets
• If required complete appropriate safety training and certifications
• Work Independently or with minimum supervision
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Physical Tasks:
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 kg without assistance
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 kg
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects and keep the area clean.
• Move up/down stairs and service ramps, carrying ladder.
• Assemble/Dismantle scaffolding with other team members
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling

Requirements

• Technical/vocational diploma or equivalent
• At least 4 years of related work experience in UAE
• Preferred experience on swimming pool systems
• Able to write and speak in English
• Technical and problem solving skills
• Candidates must be present in UAE while applying (on tourist/visit/resident visa)
