Overview

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Construction Manager (Civil) for our client ADNOC Gas in Abu Dhabi as part of our Project Controls team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectations, the position will be client office based with a possibility of onshore site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record in directly managing and being accountable for the planning and execution. The role leads construction efforts to ensure the project is executed in accordance with ADNOC Onshore and project procedures and shareholder expectations. The Construction Manager directly manages Construction Leaders for a high-profile client.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for construction and contractor-related deliverables.
• Supervises all areas on small projects and/or a subset/discipline on larger projects.
• Responsible for management and execution of multiple field disciplines or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company's operating policies and principles.
• Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project.
• Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned disciplines/subset of on-site construction.
• Management of installation, commissioning, and completion activities of materials and equipment.
• Coordinates field personnel work schedules to maximize utilization and ensure work is delivered on schedule.
• Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control.
• Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal, and competent manner, including any health and safety and site-specific inductions.
• Initiate safety, quality, and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment, and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements.

Expected:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent level of site experience in a senior role.
• Professional Engineer accreditation preferred.
• Minimum of twenty (20) years of previous construction management experience on large oil and gas development projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work with people across a diversity of cultures.
