Employment: Full Time

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a post-doctoral researcher with experience in optimization techniques for non-intrusive load monitoring in smart meters. The research will focus on the investigation of new techniques in appliance energy disaggregation to enhance the functionality of smart meters. The selected candidate is expected to collect and analyze load consumption data for a load disaggregation model, develop an optimization approach considering uncertainties, and finally evaluate the performance of the proposed approach. The candidate must have experience with modeling tools such as AI techniques, MATLAB, and statistical tools. A good knowledge in optimization techniques is preferred.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
- Strong interest in academic research in the above-mentioned field
- Knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink platform.

Preferred Qualification
- Expertise in programming and simulation tools.
- Publication track record is a plus.
