We at GEMS International School, Al Khail are now welcoming expressions of interest from experienced Primary (PYP) teachers, with opportunities available for August 2026.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.

Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that nurtures individual strengths and learning styles.

Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including EAL, gifted, and students requiring additional support.

Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.

Assess, record, and communicate student progress effectively, using data to inform teaching and personalised support.

Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB-aligned curriculum plans, resources, and assessments.

Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, events, and community initiatives.

Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student growth and wellbeing.

Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously enhance teaching practice.

Uphold the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all aspects of school life.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent.

A minimum of 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience teaching Primary, ideally within a PYP curriculum school (preferred but not essential).

A passion for inspiring young learners through innovative and inquiry based teaching.

The vision, energy, commitment, and educational philosophy to contribute to the continued success of a leading flagship GEMS school with an international student body.

A desire to grow professionally and work within a collaborative, forward-thinking community.
