Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a leading international Architectural Engineering consultancy requires a Principal/Associate Architect to manager a team in their Dubai office.

The successful individual will be responsible for managing mid to large scale projects from start to finish, meeting financial, quality and time frame objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Key responsibilities include:
• Work with key stakeholders to clarify the scope of the project and the specific client and project criteria that are to be met.
• Develop and agree project plans that identify key activities, outputs and resource requirements and that provide a basis for monitoring project performance.
• Monitor the commercial performance of the project and take remedial action where necessary.
• Monitor and control technical and commercial risk on projects.
• Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
• Coach & mentor architecture and design professionals to support the development of clients talent pool.
• Lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.
• Manage the production of, and quality assure design analysis and the associated documentation to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations and that they comply with applicable standards and codes of practice.
• Present and obtain agreement of design options and opportunities to maximize the effectiveness of design components and drive the implementation of these.
• Develop working relationships with the client to ensure that there is effective communication of progress and change, as well as the resolution of issues.
• Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by the client, and of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry.
• Set up opportunities in Oracle Sales Cloud, as well as tracking projects through the pursuit to win stage to the project initiation and implementation stage.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Architecture degree.
• Chartered professional status, or equivalent.
• Eight or more years’ relevant experience including supervision of elements of large, complex projects.
• Team management and mentoring.
• ‘Practitioner’ level expertise in professional discipline.
• Thorough understanding of one or more sectors.
• Effective project management, client relationship management and commercial skills.
• Able to assert their authority when dealing with secondary consultants (esp MEP and Structures) from a wide range of backgrounds
• Strong technical focus
• Working knowledge of relevant desktop applications (inclusive of Revit).
