Overview

Kintec has been exclusively selected to support a prominent regional organization in Abu Dhabi, known for delivering full-spectrum EPC solutions across marine infrastructure, offshore energy, and dredging. This is an exciting, tax-free opportunity for permanent residential staff roles in the UAE, offering a stable Monday-to-Friday schedule from 8am to 5pm. With a start date expected in late 2025 or early 2026, depending on candidate availability, this assignment presents not only professional growth but also the chance to live in one of the safest, most cosmopolitan cities in the Middle East.

Role / Purpose

Lead the design, engineering, and technical management of upstream, midstream, and gas processing projects (Concept, Select, FEED). Provides in-depth technical expertise across gas processing systems including GDU, GSU, NGL recovery, cryogenics, DPDU, compressors, expanders, and process and utility systems. Ensures deliverable accuracy, cost-effectiveness, integration across disciplines, and guidance to process engineers. Experience in downstream industries (refineries, petrochemicals) is advantageous.

Key responsibilities

Lead and oversee complete process design and engineering work for projects, ensuring optimization, correctness, and compliance with international codes and standards.

Review client enquiries and scope of work (SoW) during tendering; raise clarifications, coordinate inter-discipline activities, and provide process input for bids.

Develop process design basis, design philosophies, and scope of work for subcontractors.

Review and perform process simulations; guide engineers in developing heat and mass balances.

Supervise process engineering deliverables: equipment/instrument sizing, process calculations, pipeline hydraulics, blowdown calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets.

Evaluate vendor/consultant offers for process packages and specialized studies; prepare technical inputs for bid evaluation and review vendor documentation.

Lead HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety studies; provide inputs and ensure closeout of recommendations.

Review equipment layouts, participate in design and 3D model reviews.

Prepare operating manuals, philosophies, procedures, and performance guarantee procedures; support commissioning and performance runs.

Receive and validate as-built information for drafting production.

Develop process design guidelines, procedures, spreadsheets, and standalone software to optimize or automate work.

Provide input to project planning packages and monitor man-hours and project progress to ensure completion within budget.

Minimum requirements

B.Sc. / B.E. in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institute.

Minimum 15 years' experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas, specifically gas processing design and engineering, with at least 6 years in LDE roles during Concept, FEED, and Engineering stages.

Strong expertise in process simulation (HYSYS, PROMAX / ProTreat). Knowledge of PIPESIM, OLGA, TGNET, TLNET preferred.

Proven skills in process calculations, PFDs, PSFDs, P&IDs, and C&EDs / Safe Charts.

Good knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.

Experience leading engineering work in large FEED/EPC projects.

Aspen HYSYS, UNISIM, PRO/II (steady-state and dynamic simulations)

PROMAX / ProTreat, PIPESIM, OLGA, PVTSim, Multiflash (preferred)
