WSP are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Wind Engineer to join our team overseeing our wind energy projects, driving innovation and excellence in the development of sustainable wind energy initiatives.
As the Principal Wind Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing wind energy projects that align with our commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge engineering practices. Leveraging your extensive experience, you will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and ensuring the successful design, implementation, and operation of wind energy solutions.
You would have the option of being based in UAE.
Your new role, what's involved?
* Feasibility Studies for new Wind Projects.
* Preparation of Wind Resource Assessment.
* Selection of vendors for Data collection and overseeing their performance.
* Determination of Wind Potential and Estimation of Annual Energy Production.
* Preparation of reports describing wind potential including modelling and real measurements.
* Preparation of bankable reports by quality review of available wind data w.r.t raw wind data and corrections applied.
* Should be able to prepare reports on wind data analysis process.
* Should be able to do Long term analysis, air density and wind shear calculations based on wind data.
* Selection of most suitable turbine from the top OEMs like Vestas, GE, Siemens Gamesa etc.,
* Uncertainty analysis and breaking down values of various uncertainties and generating reports at P90, P80, P75 etc.,
* Preparation of Technical Specification and Detailed design of wind farm in coordination with other disciplines within the organisation.
* Travel around the GCC region as and when required.
Requirements
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Demonstrable experience in client handling while front facing the clients on the ongoing and upcoming projects.
Engineering Degree in any discipline.
* Expert on Power Curve verification as per IEC
* Expert in High Frequency Wind Data Monitoring and Analysis.
* Expert in Wind Assessment latest software like WindPro, LiDAR, AWS and other latest software.
* Identification of sites for masts for customer projects.
* Expert in Wind Resource Assessment, Wind Farm design and ability to undertake Consulting assignments.
* Siting analysis for operational projects.
* Assessing site suitability of wind turbines and technical Due diligence of wind energy projects.
* Operational assessment of wind power plants and key contract reviews such as Turbine Supply Agreements, O&M, PPA agreements and EPC contracts.
* Wind Data Analysis, WTG selection based on climatic conditions, Optimisation and load analysis.
* Attend FAT for Wind Turbines
* Study the terrain, roughness and the slopes of the site in Arc Gis
* Data analysis & Linear wind flow modeling.
* Exposure to international projects.
* Should have good communication skills, presentable and interpersonal skills.
