Private Equity Associate

Job description / Role

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar global alternative investment manager, it operates across a variety of asset classes and structures within the alternative landscape including hedge funds, separate accounts, distressed and special situations private equity, collateralised loan obligations (CLOs), mutual funds, and ETFs. The firm's diversified client base includes, corporations, financial institutions, fund of funds, governments, and high net-worth individuals.

My client is seeking a bright, creative and hard-working associate that will work closely with the Private Equity and Corporate Strategy teams on due diligence, research, financial modelling, valuation and overall execution of investment opportunities. This is an opportunity for an extraordinary performer who demonstrates excellent research and analytical skills through academic work, personal investing and professional work experience.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct research on companies in all sub-sectors of financial services
* Perform all research and financial analysis, including LBO models, detailed operating models, valuation comparable, precedent transactions and industry analysis for prospective deals
* Prepare written summaries, due diligence packages, presentation materials and investment memorandums for the investment team and investment committee
* Help lead buy-side investment process and execution, including leading due diligence process and engaging 3rd party advisors for potential transactions
* Conduct interviews with industry experts, management teams and other experts
* Develop and build relationships with investment bankers, management teams and other contacts in order to source deals

Requirements

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 2 years of Investment Banking/Sell-side experience and 2 years of Private Equity/Corporate Development related experience
* MBA preferred
* Demonstrated prior transaction experience in financial services
* Strong modelling, research and analytical skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written
* Presentation skills - able to deliver compelling and concise presentations
* Self-motivated with strong work ethic and energy
* Superior attention to detail and thoroughness
* Resourceful and creative in conducting financial analytics
* Dealing sourcing and project management skills
