Procurement Engineer - Building Projects

Job description / Role

We are currently partnering with a well-established construction and development company based in Abu Dhabi, renowned for delivering over 100 large-scale projects across the UAE and building a strong industry reputation over the years.

They are now looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Engineer to join their growing team.

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and approvals from Senior Procurement Engineer and GM Operations
• Prepare and issue enquiries to subcontractors/suppliers across various construction trades, and follow up on quotations, technical submissions, prequalification documents, and material samples
• Review and analyze quotations for compliance with contractual and project specifications
• Prepare comparison statements and propose value engineering options and alternative solutions in coordination with suppliers
• Prepare Letters of Intent (LOI) and ensure sourcing from approved supplier/subcontractor lists
• Compile procurement documentation in accordance with company procedures for GM Operations approval and LOI issuance
• Conduct market research to identify and assess new suppliers/subcontractors in line with procurement procedures
• Evaluate supplier/subcontractor performance in coordination with Project Managers and provide recommendations for approvals, retention, or removal from approved vendor lists

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience of which at least years as Procurement/Material Engineer in a contracting company preferably in the UAE.
• Ability to evaluate subcontractors’ quotations, negotiate prices and recommend the best offer matching the requirement, specifications, etc.
• Experience in preparing comparison sheets, letters on intent, subcontract agreements, etc.
• Strong in follow up subcontractors’ variations and analyse the cost effects for alternative proposals.
• Good command of the English language.
