Procurement Executive

Job description / Role

This opportunity is with a well-known construction company in Dubai.

As Procurement Executive, you will mainly ensure that the implementation of Procurement & Contracts strategy and Procedures is correct. You will report to head of procurement and contracts. You are responsible in ensuring procured items and services meets defined quality standards. Your objective is to plan and perform expediting activities. This is to ensure that documentation, materials, and equipment are delivered on time. You will confirm accuracy of orders and generate reports. All throughout, you will coordinate the movement of materials throughout the organization.

It is your job to do research. This is with regards to the vendor options based on employer’s needs. You will then work with various departments to determine the amount and type of goods required. An inventory of goods on hand will be kept mainly by you. Tracking orders is your job. This is from placement through delivery. Other than that, you will try to develop budgets for the goods required by each department. With regards to the vendor service, you will also handle poor product quality or delivery delays. As primary role, you will work mostly with vendors. You will further monitor notices with regards to shipping or transportation of materials to avoid potential problems with deliveries.

Requirements

To be successful, you would ideally need to possess at least 5 years of experience in procurement specifically in a construction or manufacturing field. It is required that you have enough knowledge of the different procurement policies, procedures, and government bylaws. A degree in engineering, purchasing, business, or any related discipline is preferred. You should both be able to work independently and with a team. Being detail-oriented will allow you to better deliver consistent services.

Experience in project management and administration will prove to be useful in the long run. You should know how to collaborate. Having great problem-solving skills will further help you with the work provided. And you should have effective and proper communication skills. With regards to data management, you should be able to identify, sort out, analyze, and interpret them precisely. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment will help you gain more practice and expertise as well. You should always be willing to engage in professional development activities. Having basic computer skills will be useful too.

To prove as a suitable candidate, you should also develop an awareness and monitor programs and identify areas for improvement. Simply, you should be proficient in understanding of materials and services procurement.
