Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with an operational power plant who is looking to hire a Procurement Manager with strong negotiation skills.
Your main responsibilities will include planning, budgeting and forecasting, people development and management along with creating and developing sourcing strategies. You will establish and evaluate suppliers, negotiate with vendors for goods and services and the best possible price and service guaranteed. You will also be in charge of the quality of records and reports along with the quantity of items rejected and returned to the supplier.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a Degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 9 years' experience in an industrial organisation or a university Degree with a minimum of 9 years' experience within the power and water industry. You should have knowledge of local and international markets, procurement procedures and contract management as well as an understanding of local and international trade legislation and hiring contract labour. Hands on experience of ERP systems such as Maximo or SAP is preferred. It would be a distinct advantage to be CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified.
