Job description / Role
Our client is a well-known Food Trading company with over 300 clients across the UAE. They are currently looking to hire a food procurement and planning specialist to join the team.
This role will be both a procurement and planning role within the Operations Department. The purpose of the role is to source food (chilled, frozen, fresh and dry), developing and maintaining a cost efficient and effective sourcing processes as well as analysing stock reports.
- Sourcing food products and sending out POs to suppliers
- Negotiating existing prices and terms & conditions with suppliers, which include payment terms, seasonal discounts or rebates
- Re-negotiate prices and partnerships with freight service providers
- Developing and maintaining supplier database
- Conducting research and market studies in order to establish fair market value prices as well as monitoring the competition
- Close collaboration with sales and logistics to ensure product availability
- Setting up and managing stock follow up tools
- Developing and maintaining cost effective integrated procurement processes
- Analysing stock reports on a weekly basis according to sales, statistics and bookings
Requirements
- Degree educated (Economics / Business or related discipline)
- Previous experience within procurement / supply chain and demand planning within a food trading company
- Global experience preferred
- Good knowledge of European food products
- Fluent English (Italian is an advantage)
- Analytical and results-driven
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Dynamic, pro-active and ability to multitask in a stressful environment
