Employment: Full Time

Transguard Workforce Solutions have been engaged by our client to source a Specialist - Category Management . Our client is a semi-government body in the UAE.

The position is currently for a 7 MONTH DURATION.

As a Specialist - Category Management based in Dubai, you will be responsible for providing inputs in developing category strategy/plans, assign requisitions to Category Associate Specialists and execute strategic sourcing and monitoring operational sourcing .

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following;

• Experience in INDIRECT CATEGORY such as procuring Consultancy Services, Temporary Manpower, Branding and Marketing Services, Research & Studies, Training & Development, Transportation Services, Hotel & Accommodation and Stationeries
• Support the development of multi-year category strategies and plans to achieve maximum lifecycle value from assigned spend categories
• Review requisitions received, and assign requisition to category specialists for action, based on workload and sourcing route (strategic or operational sourcing)
• Review requisitions submitted by end users and required information to enable sourcing is available. Request clarifications from end users if adequate information is not available.
• Define and execute sourcing strategies in close collaboration with the business stakeholders for the respective spend categories
• Recommend suppliers based on the evaluations and negotiations and submit for approval as per delegation of authority
• Negotiate with suppliers and obtain approval of finalized contracts / purchase orders as per the approved delegation of authority
• Manage, guide and monitor the execution of strategic and operational sourcing processes, and approve commitment, based on authority delegated
• Set up contracts in Oracle

Requirements

• The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or in a related field, preferably with a professional Procurement qualification (eg. CIPS) and must have minimum 8 years experience in strategic and operational sourcing with functional knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle), and Advanced Excel along with regional / industry knowledge of relevant categories (indirect procurement).
