Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsible for the day to day procurement activities involving technical spare parts, consumables, equipment, vehicles, office stationery, technical services, packaging materials & services.
- Coordinate with customers (user departments) and vendors in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned
- Coordinate with vendors (local and overseas) to ensure on-time delivery
- Negotiate for the best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, terms, delivery and service) with vendors and sub-contractors for RM/Primary packaging materials
- Prepare and process purchase orders as per procedures with specifications requested by user departments
- Source alternate vendors to ensure that gets the best value for money
- Co-ordinate in inviting bids & finalizing logistics contracts with various logistics providers
- Ensure that all vendors are annually evaluated

Requirements

- Basic technical knowledge of packaging materials and commodities
- Show understanding of regional supply market of packaging category
- Hands on experience of working on ERP systems (e.g SAP)
- Basic knowledge of procurement systems, processes and governance mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of procurement legislation (i.e basic understanding of commercial/contract law)
- Ability to demonstrate team-work and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and closely work with internal stakeholders
- Show understanding of negotiation skills and category knowledge.
- Experience in handling sourcing events and complex negotiation events will be an added advantage.
- Ability to deal with shipping, customs and logistics issues
- Show understanding of supplier relationships and ability to cultivate and grow those relationships
- Possess procurement experience in food and beverage industry (or FMCG sector)
- Hold minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering/supply chain
- A recognized procurement certification will be an added advantage
- Hands on experience of working on ERP systems (e.g SAP)
