Job description / Role
As a highly qualified , the post holder will take responsibility for all production matters, , providing expert advice on risks associated with production performance, advising on appropriate quality management systems and developing the department’s highly skilled staff. The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the department and will be responsible for identifying, developing and pursuing opportunities which broaden and strengthen the financial viability of the department.
- To directly control the farm Operation to achieve budget
- Directing the section supervisor by defining and communicating the schedules for each supervisor.
- Giving feedback and gaining commitment in improving area performance by conducting performance improvement sessions, on job coaching and attending weekly production performance meetings.
- Ensuring the farm Operation remains disease free, performs optimally and operates cost effectively by regular reviewing of Farm and performance data that drive the operation (e.g. Mortality Rate, Body Weight, Uniformity, Egg Weight, Feed
- Consumption, Hen Day &h.h production %).
- Identifying areas of concern and developing action plans to ensure workplace improvements. Having a comprehensive risk plan in place to prevent any unforeseen challenge.
- Maintain good relationships within the team and be a team player in the greater team.
- Ensure adequate inventory control of the operation and prevent theft within the operation. Periodic checking of the stock, fixed assets and small valued assets in the operation. Ensure procedure whereby small valued assets are recorded on
the relevant asset register.
- Contributing to better management decision making by preparing and presenting timely production related reports as required by the technical manager.
- Achieving the budget by controlling operating costs, reducing waste and managing overheads in the Operation.
- Contributing to the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting by providing the TM with timely and accurate budget proposals and forecasts.
- Maintaining a healthy, bio-secure and safe working environment by personally adhering to, and ensuring the adherence of his team, to policies and procedures on bio-security, safety, health and hygiene.
- Maintaining correct manning levels with the correct skills by systematically planning and implement employee vacation schedules and accurately forecasting recruitment needs.
- Ensuring optimum usage of material resources (Feed etc) by regularly monitoring and promptly dealing promptly with problems arising from usage and accountability of individuals.
- Training and Development of Technical Staff
- Ensuring production Team is equipped with the correct employees and skills and knowledge for the work by creating a training plan based in needs, providing access to relevant skills training and having a skills matrix per operation.
- Sustaining a positive team spirit by treating team members fairly and dealing with problem situations firmly and decisively.
- Motivating and encouraging staff by monitoring and appraising them on a regular basis. Implementation of Individual Performance Evaluation.
- Monitoring staffs condition of employment in relation to their workplace and accommodation by visiting them in their workplace and villa’s periodically.
Requirements
Education/ Qualification:
PhD of poultry production and quality – Egypt
M.V.SC. of poultry production and quality – Egypt .
M.V.SC. Poultry and meat manufacture technology – Italy .
B.V.SC. –Egypt
Work Experience:
30 years in the industry with Experience of managing for integration poultry project.
Knowledge:
Able to exchange detailed and more complex information to a broader range of staff.
Poultry production and disease diagnosis – Germany – (1985).
Poultry production and disease diagnosis – French – (1987).
Statistical analysis of poultry production - Canada – (1988).
Poultry disease diagnosis by Elisa - IDEEX – Holland – (1995).
Hygiene Training – Saudia Arabia -1999.
Food safety management HACCP - Saudia Arabia – (1999).
Preparation and application the research ideas - Egypt – (2001).
Poultry viral disease diagnosis by chain reaction polymerase ( PCR )-USA-(2001).
