Job description / Role
Bespoke Professionals is currently seeking an experienced Professional Support Lawyer to support fee-earners in the Dispute Resolution Group at an International law firm. The candidate will focus on streamlining internal approaches to the conduct of dispute matters, champion a Global strategy on arbitration practices and co-ordinate with other PSLs to provide cross practice support on legal developments and precedents.
Requirements
The candidate must have the following:
• Strong academic background, including a minimum of a 2:1 degree;
• At least 5 years post qualification experience as an arbitration/disputes lawyer;
• Middle East Regional experience is preferable (not essential);
• Innovative mind set, with a focus on re-engineering working practices;
• Keen interest in Lawtech, with prior experience of using new technology very helpful (e-due diligence, workflow tools etc.);
• Good analytical skills, excellent communication skills and an ability to build relationships and work as a team; and
• A proven ability to lead a project to successful completion.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
• Creation and maintenance of precedents, templates and process maps;
• Creating a best practice approach to the different stages of dispute matters;
• Supporting the global arbitration practice in conjunction with other PSLs worldwide, with a focus on global documentation and streamlining;
• Providing input on, and support for, the configuration of new technology in support of the DRG team;
• Monitoring of general legal developments in the MENA region which may affect the disputes team; and
• Responsibility for the internal disputes resolution training programme.
