Job description

Candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in subcontracting procurement within construction or marine sectors.

Job purpose

To manage the end-to-end procurement process for subcontracted services, ensuring timely engagement, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The role supports project execution by aligning subcontractor sourcing with project timelines, commercial approvals, and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

Subcontractor sourcing & evaluation

• Identify and prequalify subcontractors based on scope, capacity, and compliance.
• Float RFQs, analyze bids, and prepare commercial comparisons.
• Ensure alignment with approved vendor lists.

Contract & PO management

• Draft and issue subcontracting POs and agreements.
• Ensure terms and conditions reflect commercial approvals and project scope.
• Coordinate with legal and commercial teams for contract finalization.

Project coordination

• Liaise with PMT, site teams, and engineering to understand subcontracting needs.
• Monitor subcontractor mobilization, progress, and demobilization.
• Track job completion certificates and ensure timely invoicing.

Compliance & documentation

• Ensure subcontractors meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain records of approvals, correspondence, and performance evaluations.

Cost control & reporting

• Track subcontracting costs against approved budgets.
• Highlight deviations and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare procurement status reports and dashboards.

Stakeholder engagement

• Coordinate with internal departments (HR, Safety, Planning) for gate passes, visa status, and manpower approvals.
• Escalate issues related to tariff revalidation or scope changes.

Qualifications & skills

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in subcontracting procurement within construction or marine sectors.
• Strong understanding of project workflows and subcontractor management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred certifications

• Certified Procurement Professional (CPP)
• PMP or equivalent project coordination certification (optional but beneficial)
