Project Coordinator - Construction (Aviation) - 6 Month Extendable

Job description / Role

Transguard workforce solutions have been engaged by our client to source a Project Coordinator for Construction projects (with experience in AIRPORT construction). Our client is a Government authority of UAE.

CURRENTLY THIS ROLE IS TILL DECEMBER 2019 WITH A POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION.

As a Project Coordinator based in Dubai, this role will be responsible for planning and managing the successful implementation of construction projects with engagement of all relevant stakeholders during the delivery process to ensure that operational and capacity constraints are observed, full compliance to Regulatory requirement and process are achieved, with the final deliverable aligned with the endorsed Business Case and management of internal and external resources to ensure delivery within quality, schedule and budgets.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following;

- Engineering and construction of airport terminal buildings, support facilities and associated infrastructure including but not limited to offices, control centres, places of worship, hotels, industrial and engineering workshops, catering units, garages, petrol stations, fuel farms, RFFS assets, utility assets, hangars, specialist operational facilities, security assets, car parks, staging, and rail.
- ICAO, IATA, GCAA and industry best practice regulations and their application to ensure compliant terminal developments
- Airfield and Terminal Operations terminology and regulations
- Construction activities and their potential impact on the airport estate including but not limited to terminal / airfield / baggage Stakeholder operations, customer service, Levels of Service, security, passenger processing and how to manage and mitigate such impacts.
- Construction Health and Safety within a live airport operating environment
- Project scheduling and phasing
- Project risk management tools including HAZOPS and safety cases
- Standard project management methodologies such as PMI or PRINCE 2
- Financial knowledge including concepts and applications
- Business and commercial / contractual acumen
- Communication and interpersonal skills leading to a consultative approach within a corporate / multi functional, multicultural environment
- Knowledge of reporting of significant capital investment programmes
- Knowledge of change management concepts and trends
- Understanding of the aviation industry
- Understanding of issues related to working in a regulated industry
- Understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture

Requirements

- The ideal candidate must be degree qualified in a discipline related to Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Project Management with a minimum of 5 years' in-depth experience of planning, design, procurement and construction of complex, time critical airport terminal programmes of work within a regulated, operationally constrained and customer service focussed environment.
