Project Director (Villa Developments)

Job description / Role

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Project Director to join their team in Dubai to drive projects and delivery on major Villa masterplan developments. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Project Director on large scale (+1000 unit) Villa Development and Masterplan projects in the UAE / GCC. For the role in hand, clients will consider only candidates who have full life cycle project leadership and have worked for Tier 1 Civil Contracting companies in the region.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and direct in collaboration with PMT, (Project Management Team) all site activities to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
• Assess and review the project Key Performance Indicators to determine accurate status of project, making tactical decisions for allocating resources, and assigning staff requirements in order to maintain project on target.
• Manage changes to the project and assist in obtaining written client approval on all changes before proceeding with work.
• Prepare reports for corrective actions if project becomes behind schedule or overspends budget, and present to COO with recovery plan.
• Review periodic status reports prepared by PMT Managers.
• Prepare and present reports for COO, including monthly summary report.
• Confer with PMT Managers to provide advice and to resolve problems.
• Provide Department on boarding and induction (procedures, guidelines, policies, etc).
• Collaborate with PMT Managers in directing and supervising personnel.
• Ensure all PMT departments have effective resources and perform with expected efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure all statutory requirements connected with the implementation of project.
• Ensure proper closeout of project including transmittal of final documentation to client.
• Ensure the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any type of accidents.
• Communicate periodically with clients in order to address their requirements and any concerns.
• Committed to provide adequate resources for the establishment of HSE management System.
• Ensure HSE policy is developed and implemented as required
• Ensure legal compliance with respect to UAE federal law and other applicable legislation

• Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university or colleges.
• Preferably PMP qualified.
• 15-20+ years of experience in the civil construction specifically within major Villa developments (+500 units) and associates works; minimum 5 years of GCC management experience. Also, including commercial, technical, planning and contractual qualifications.
• Has been responsible for full life cycle delivery of a major villa / masterplan development
• Must have been a Senior PM or Project Director on a major civil construction project in excess of AED 1 Billion from piling to handover.
• Must have proven leadership ability, communications skills, interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
• Must be able to develop strong relationships and accounts with clients.
• A creative thinker and excellent organizer.
• Excellent Oral and written skill in English.

Salary:
AED 65,000 to 80,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
