Project Engineer - Civil (Fire Rated Steel Doors)

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

- Oversee the design and installation of fire-rated steel doors, ensuring compliance with local building codes and fire safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate the feasibility and requirements for fire-rated door installations.
- Collaborate with architects and contractors to integrate fire-rated doors into building designs while maintaining aesthetic and functional standards.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and schedules, to ensure accurate execution.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to procure high-quality fire-rated steel doors and related components.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project alignment.
- Prepare detailed progress reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key developments and project milestones.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a strong foundation in structural design principles.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, specifically in the construction and installation of fire-rated systems.
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP or CAPM) is highly desirable to demonstrate project oversight capabilities.
- Experience working with fire-rated building materials and knowledge of relevant fire safety codes and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to navigate complex project challenges with innovative solutions.
- Physical capability to conduct site visits and inspections, including the ability to navigate construction sites.
