Project Engineering Manager

Job description / Role

This role is with reputable offshore EPCI firm in UEA, they are seeking to highly qualified engineering professional to join their engineering team and handles new project.

The job holder shall be responsible for the day to day management of the design engineering activities and implementation of the scope of work in accordance with the project schedule and project requirements. Lead the project design engineering effort and act as the design engineering representative with the Client. Lead and direct the design effort to formulate the most cost effective technical solutions, and to execute that plan in accordance with the requirements of the contract, and with Corporate and Area guidelines and procedures. Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project, and to seek Discipline Manager's input in the resolution of technical issues. In addition, the job holder shall report, to both Engineering and Projects VP, with regard to technical, progress, manning, risk and performance issues, and seek advice with regard to the resolution of such issues.

The job holder shall:
• Manage the entire design team during the projects’ bidding process and then execution. Assign and delegate responsibilities as per scope of work to the team members
• Ensure maintaining the integrity of all designs and calculations carried out by engineering / technical team.
• Interact effectively and by all means with the clients on design-engineering matters, and ensure / monitor design productivity for all projects in hand and taking the right measures as needed.
• Participate in bidding process with regards to design execution, discipline interface and schedule
• Manage clients in regard to engineering / design discipline
• Should provide effective direction on the planning and forecasting to all activities related to engineering.
• Participate / lead guidance on the development of engineering systems, such as P&IDs and 3D models with an objective of providing an automated fabrication outputs.
• Manage the interface between design and procurement teams.
• Ensure financial objectives are met.
• Set-up the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) target for the department

Requirements

• Has Professional engineer qualification
• Possess Master degree in either in mechanical or structural engineering.
• Should have hands-on work experience in design techniques and international Codes and Standards,
• Should demonstrate hands-on work experience in Offshore Construction and Installation
• Has at least 15 years of work experience in offshore oil & gas facilities, drilling rigs and pipelines gained from being working with major EPCI contractor
