Major accountabilities of Position
- Responsible for the technical delivery and integrity for the project
- Manages technical Value Improvement Processes VIPs
- Ensures BoD is documented and changed accordingly
- Ensures that Location/Project Sealing guidelines are followed
- Prepares/implements Engineering SEAL Plan
- Coordination of engineering team
- Ensures design can be safely constructed/operated/decommissioned/reclaimed.
- Ensures areas of uncertainty are highlighted/addressed.
- Promotes collaboration with other functional groups and stakeholders for engineering matters.
- Ensures appropriate Technical Peer Reviews are conducted.
- Ensures quality is maintained and deficiencies rectified.
- Ensures appropriate design checks/guidelines are being utilized
- Ensures team has the right skill set to perform the work
- Review the design for conformance to contractual requirements and specified codes , standards and regulations.
- Capture, appropriately communicate and apply lessons learnt, best practices and risk mitigation measures relevant to the engineering of the project
- Review the EPC Contractor engineering performance
- Prepare decision support packages for client review and approvals
- Plan, co-ordinate and be accountable for the quality of IPMT engineering activities, including deliverable reviews, studies and inputs to cost estimates and budgetary estimates
- Responsible for identifying and execution of all refinery engineering projects and ongoing technical support to Operations. Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and was responsible for any contractors used.
- Manage the planning of all scope elements of the project.
- Develop resource & financial requirements from the project plan.
- Manage the design procurement and construction activities to meet the project schedule
- Routinely monitor the key reports and development of corrective action plans
- Timely and effective documentation turnover and project close-out.
- Plan and prepare accurate project estimates.
- Establish cost report for control of projects.
- Monitor and control all cost aspects of the project including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends, taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities
- Assess performance of cost control system & personnel

Requirements

Job Specific Knowledge:
- Project engineering experience on major projects (up to ~$500Mio USD TIC) in a brownfield/green field environment with associated commercial and contractual experience with a proven ability to lead small multi-discipline teams

Industry Specific Experience:
- industry experience (Hydrocarbons)

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
