Makeen Properties, a Ghobash group company, is a boutique real estate company undertaking investment, property management and leasing on behalf of the Ghobash family, and boasts nearly three decades of market expertise and experience.

It is now looking to hire a Project Manager

Job Purpose:
• The Project Manager is required to support Makeen Development Department with various projects across the UAE.
• The Project Manager’s main responsibilities will be during the Project’s Post Contract stage with the project various activities.
• Monitoring and Controlling of projects execution till Close out and Handover stage. This will be established in effective coordination, communication and reporting to the Senior Projects Manager (not limited to) the below Key Accountabilities.

In coordination with the Senior Projects Manager:
• The Project Manager is required to support Makeen Development Department with various projects across the UAE. The Project Manager main responsibilities will be during the Project’s Post Contract stage with the project various activities. Monitoring and Controlling of projects execution till Close out and Handover stage.
• Thru the life cycle of the project, review design / materials selections and scope of works changes whenever requested and issue instructions after approval of the requested changes
• Conduct and Contribute to meetings with selected vendors with Landlords whenever necessary till approval of project drawings and specifications are granted.
• Participate in applying vendor assessment periodically; develop/improve the Property and projects Policy & Procedures whenever required.
• Participate in the development and implementation of multiple projects management strategies and provide technical and contractual support to Management team for successful completion of projects.
• Review project costing and compare with BOQ to ensure optimum use of resources and compare against budget and time frame
• Ensure the Projects requirements, specifications and finishes details are implemented as per Company’s set standards as per the approved/contractual drawings as well as the execution and close out stage and handover the projects to other internal departments
• Perform regular Weekly Sites Visits / Supervision & reporting on project progress status, Materials, Finishes selection & Quality Control in site, in addition to workout alternative plans in delays when applicable.
• Managing all project parties ( consultant firm , third party Quantity Surveyor firm, main contractor and sub-contractors / vendors packages), monitoring, controlling works progress and closing technical / commercial processes during the Project lifecycle
• Conduct physical inspection of contractor’s workshops and other assets to control project work progress, and desired quality.
• Resolve the project site conflicts by establishing reviews processes and mechanisms early in the project, Identify actual or potential problems and facilitates guides solutions to ensure that the projects are completed as planned, work with architects and contractors to provide alternative solutions to problems and emerging needs.
• Manage and supervise the work of MAKEEN projects to make sure the aims of the project are met, ensure that quality standards are adhered, keep track of progress and ensure that the project is on time and within assigned budgets and desired quality
• Coordination with various groups including master developers and authorities to ensure permits are obtained for the project and that design and construction is in compliance

Requirements

Educational Qualification Requirements:
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Construction Management; Project Management.

Skills & Professional Requirements:
• Project Management and Leadership skills.
• Computer skills.
• Native Arabic speakers are preferred

Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in managing construction sites
• Solid knowledge of construction practices and construction Inspection practices in the UAE.
• Solid Knowledge of Process Safety Management
• Solid knowledge of material planning and financial projection.
