Project Manager (Design)

Job description / Role

Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Project Manager (Design) to join their team in Dubai to work on international projects in UAE and KSA. Preferred candidates to have experience / expertise in High Rise, Residential, Hospitality, Commercial and mixed-use project of various sizes and scales in GCC area working within with a recognised project management or design consultancy company.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed directly by our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• As the Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact with clients, ensuring effective project delivery across all stages. With strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of contracts, processes, and local regulations, you will oversee the complete execution of architectural projects within the UAE and KSA, from initiation to completion.
• Client Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships to understand their needs and manage expectations.
• Project Delivery: Oversee the entire project life cycle, from design through to execution, ensuring that all engineering services are delivered to the highest professional standards, on time, and within budget.
• Leadership & Coordination: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring seamless coordination between architects, engineers, contractors, and subconsultants.
• Contract & Budget Management: Monitor contracts, review and enforce terms, and make strategic decisions to resolve issues, ensuring compliance and adherence to schedules and budgets. Oversee invoicing and payment processes with clients.
• Quality Management: Implement the Quality Management System (QMS) across all stages of the project and identify areas for continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all work is carried out in line with local building regulations, international codes, and life safety requirements, and address any challenges relating to approvals from local authorities.
• Subconsultant Management: Oversee subconsultants by establishing clear standards, objectives, and performance targets, ensuring their deliverables align with the overall project goals and timelines.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Set project targets, track progress, and provide clear, actionable feedback to stakeholders. Make critical decisions to keep the project on track while managing any risks or challenges that arise

Project Manager (Design) Experience:

• Degree in Architecture with 10-15 years of total experience, including at least 5 years working in the UAE/KSA region.
• Extensive experience in handling diverse projects, such as residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and large-scale developments.
• In-depth knowledge of local building regulations, authorities, international building codes, and life safety requirements within the UAE and KSA
• Proven track record of full life cycle project delivery in recognised PMC or Design Consultancy companies
• Strong stakeholder liaison and management capabilities including clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal
