Project Manager (UAE National)

Job description / Role

To oversee and assist in Project Management plans along with Project Managers at all entities under ACTVET.

To provide guidance to project management best practices by utilizing the developed project management methodology and ensuring adherence and best practice

• Effectively apply recognized PM methodology and enforce project standards
• Liaise with entities PMO or PMs for guidance, reporting and support as needed
• Monitor and assist to ensure projects are on track and managed risks
• Produce progress reports feed into Project Portfolio Manager Dashboard
• Ensure all lines of communication are constantly maintained
• Utilize an escalation process for issues & high risks
• Facilitate training sessions with entities, associates and others as needed
• Understand the financial models and ensure program owners are within budget
• Conduct evaluation sessions upon project completion and lessons learned
• Minimizes exposure and risk on projects
• Guidance, coaching and training for Associates
• Create a climate which encourages excellence
• Pragmatic use of program/project management disciplines to bring tangible benefits to the business at lowest possible cost in shortest possible time
• Participate in a cultural change to create an understanding with professional approach
• Promote and share best practices in project management.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by manager.
• Report to the Head, Project Management Office.


Experience Required
• 6 years experience in Local and/or international project management experience of high value projects, preferred in the education sector

Education Requirements
• Bachelor degree or above in a relevant specialization with supporting training courses and experience
• PMP Certification or equivalent is required
• Any other relevant certification is a plus

• Problem Solving: Well-developed conceptual analytical, research and evaluation skill, including the ability to provide innovative thinking in solving complex problems
• Team-working: Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Sound knowledge of national and international education and training systems and recognition issues, including in particular vocational education and training
• Sound knowledge of the issues associated with interrelationships with the labor market, the national economy, and general sectorial and community issues
• Demonstrated ability to work with others to develop creative solutions to complex problems
• Demonstrated personal drive and integrity, the ability to self-manage and the capacity to identify and effectively manage risks associated with change
• High level oral and written communication, interpersonal and representational skills, and a proven ability to use these skills to prepare and present clear, concise, high quality advice
• Highly developed leadership and effective management skills, with capacity to initiate, implement and sustain improvements within a team environment, as well as the ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as a member of a team
• Highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Evidence of extensive experience in previous and current employment in a relevant field such as working in the education and training sector liaising with industry in a business high level relationships role or being involved through a management position in a related organisation responsible for such arrangements
• Demonstrated ability to manage high level industry relationships in the national interest and respond to key relationships and related activities on workforce and skills development issues
• High level skills and experience in Project Management best practice, such as PMI
• Demonstrated evidence of successful management in establishing education and training organizations linked to the labor and training market
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence, and a proven record of developing and maintaining effective partnerships across an organization and with diverse external clients and other key stakeholders
• Demonstrated evidence of successfully performing as a change agent internally and externally to an organization(s)
• A proven record in achieving results within tight timelines, and demonstrated capacity to set and implement new directions
• Evidence of the capacity to work sensitively and effectively in a multi-cultural environment
