Based in our Middle East & Africa HQ, and covering the region, we have a new vacancy for a experienced, passionate and hungry Project Pursuit Manager. You will be responsible for generating front-end sales of our Systems and Solutions portfolio for greenfield/new business projects, working closely with EPCs, end users and our network of local business partners.
This is not a training role - you will hit the ground running, drawing on your experience within the Middle East region, and utilising your existing sales expertise.
Your role & responsibilities will include:
* Identifying mega projects within existing customer accounts
* Early engagement with end users, project management consultants, EPCs and other stakeholders
* Drive business benefits of PlantWeb to customers at all levels.
* Maximise project opportunities by ensuring PlantWeb technologies are specified at the conceptual design stage.
* Profile projects and establish a clear understanding of business drivers and process control requirements.
* Liaise with Emerson personnel worldwide for Global PlantWeb Project Pursuits.
* Capture customer key business drivers and ensure inclusion within Emerson proposals.
* Take a pro-active role in working with the Emerson Global Project Pursuit Team and regional account managers and pursue control system projects to achieve order conversion and maximise the potential for all Systems & Solutions products and services.
* Ensure Wireless solutions are included in each pursuit.
* Develop and implement compelling strategies and project vision for major project pursuits.
* Leverage existing and develop new relationships with key executive decision-makers to successfully position Emerson as a preferred supplier of technology, products, services and solutions.
* Internal leadership in Main Automation Contractor (MAC) project pursuits to manage all available resources within Emerson Process Management to be successful.
* Keep up-to-date with developments and trends in products, industries and market conditions.
* Develop and participate in project pricing process with senior management.
* Maintain accurate project funnel and forecast.
* Establish and maintain communications throughout the Systems & Solutions teams worldwide.
* Ensure compliance to Ethical and Trade Compliance Policies
* Competitor analysis
* Maintain and update CRM
* Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson's Company Policy and Procedures
Requirements
* At least 15 years experience in the Automation industry with expert knowledge of instrumentation & control systems
* A proven track record of front end sales for greenfield projects in the Middle East
* Experience with pursuing and winning megaproject contracts
* Be willing and able to travel for up to 75% of your time across the Middle East & Africa - including countries such as Nigeria and Iraq
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
You will also demonstrate a relentless hunger for sales, the ability to chase business, identify opportunities and close deals.
You will have excellent English communication skills, and preferably French and/or Arabic as well.
