KBRu2019s technology led industrial solutions (TLIS) group is looking for a project specialist for a long-term role at our Dubai office, with techno-commercial experience.

Division: Technology led industrial solutions (TLIS)

Job purpose

To support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of maintenance projects by coordinating technical activities, managing contractors, suppliers, and consultant interfaces, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and client standards. Prior experience within UAE is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in preliminary estimation, planning, scheduling, and coordinating all technical aspects of projects.
  • Review RFP documents, specifications, and technical documents to prepare techno-commercial responses for maintenance bids ensuring their accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Set up, take over, and hand over projects during initial mobilization ensuring their alignment with industry standards and project bidding specifications.
  • Support the project managers in managing site activities, contractor performance, and coordination with internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure alignment with project schedule and quality standards.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of project execution and management plans, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and progress reports.
  • Assist in resolving management and site issues.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, and third-party consultants.
  • Support cost monitoring and control activities.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings, providing technical input where required.
  • Assist in preparation of handover documentation and project close-out reports.
  • Ensure project progress as per approved schedule in close cooperation with the project controls team.
  • Set up and regularly maintain a project dashboard in close cooperation with the project controls team.
  • Monitor, with support of the project controls team, cost aspects of the project within direct control to forecast final costs, trends, and take action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Evaluate earned value / value of work for project completion with support of the project controls team.
  • Build and maintain a healthy relationship with clients and act as project focal point for the client.
  • Proactively resolve scope and schedule issues with the third-party contractor as they arise.
  • Ensure change order recording and participation from project team in technical parts of change order assessment.
  • Regularly provide input to project reports to internal project management and the clients.
  • Define and communicate teamu2019s priorities such as achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
  • Listen to the team, discuss issues, resolve problems, and direct activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.
  • Regularly chair and record project team meetings within the PMC organization and with the client and with third-party contractors or consultants.
  • Responsible for preparation and status tracking of all project-related correspondence, transmittals, and project documents.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations (TBE) and award recommendations.
  • Qualifications including required education, experience, & skills

  • Bachelor of engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 12 years of techno-commercial experience.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading teams for large-sized projects in the oil & gas industry or equipment manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multi-cultural environment, preferably in the Middle East.
