Job description / Role
The main duties of the Facades PM include, but are not limited to:
• Manage projects to meet time, cost and quality requirements;
• Support of Technical Manager input into project bids / tenders / pre-tenders
• Support of Technical Manager in Liaison with The Client in negotiating fees
• Monitoring and reporting on project status (financial, programme, resource and Client satisfaction) using prescribed tools and procedures
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to prescribed quality
• Maintain regular contacts with clients and authorities
• Liaison with The Client or other project consultants concerning any issues relating to the façade scope or commission
• To be the main interface between The Client and company
• Lead teams to prepare project proposals for submissions and to implement projects in respect of planning, design and construction services
• Project set up following award using company systems
• Working with The Architect and Designer (if necessary) to develop concept details of a façade system to suit the required aesthetic, building type, building use and local climate providing budgetary advice where necessary.
Management and/or checking of:
• Preliminary engineering design and checks of façades and steel structures/architectural features
• Reports produced by other members of the team
• Working with the architect and Hyder designer (if necessary) to develop the design and specification of the façade system to a stage that it can be used by the architect to generate details for tender of the façade package
• Checking and commenting on specifications for the proposed façade systems
• Checking and commenting on façade contractors full system calculations and system shop drawings
• Attendance at mock up testing, reporting on results of same
• Factory inspection of façade manufacture
• Site inspections of façade installation
• Generation of concise, clear, accurate written reports on the above and related issues
• Acting as Technical Directors’ deputy when required
• Recruit and train technical staff to discharge above duties and organise project teams for effective and efficient project implementation
• Obtain first hand information with regard to business development and pursue relevant opportunities.
Salary:
AED
10,000 to 12,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Ideally 10 years’ experience working in engineering in the Aluminum construction industry
• Familiarity with façade systems, façade design and materials manufacture, a distinct advantage
• High proficiency in ACAD, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent written and spoken English
