Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client,a global commodities trading company specializing in sourcing soft commodities & other food products is now searching for a Buyer.

The incumbent will be based in JAFZA and:
• Must have contacts and suppliers in India, China and related Markets
• Will work with closely with the Azerbaijan Sales & Purchase Team
• Analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends;
• Regularly reviewing performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels;
• Managing plans for stock levels;
• Reacting to changes in demand and logistics;
• Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products;
• Liaising with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed;
• Attending trade fairs, in the UAE and overseas, to select and assemble a new collection of products;
• Participating in promotional activities;
• Writing reports and forecasting sales levels;
• Presenting new ranges to senior retail managers;
• Liaising with shop personnel to ensure supply meets demand;
• Getting feedback from customers;
• Review and analyses historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results
• Plan & monitor replenishment across the Distribution Centre network , stores & online by maintaining the accuracy replenishment parameter
• Training and mentoring junior staff
• Collaborate with the Buying and Inventory teams and relevant business leads to resolve out of stock or stock shortage situations

Requirements

• UAE experience in retail background (Supermarket - Food & Non Food)
• Candidate should have good knowledge on NoN Food Supplier in & out of the Country like INDIA, CHINA, UAE
• Candidate should have good product knowledge and experience in ERP will be an added advantage
• Strong analytical skills;
• Negotiating skills and the ability to network and influence people;
• Team working and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Numeracy skills and proficiency using IT;
• Ability to cope with the pressure of having to make important decisions and meet tight deadlines;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve targets;
• Leadership attributes
• Candidate will be based in Dubai but this will include travelling if necessary
