Overview of the role:
By creating this role, the organization will have a dedicated leader to oversee, manage, and continuously improve QA processes across projects and retain domain knowledge, leading to better product quality and faster time-to-market.
What you will do:
- Strategic oversight of QA process: The QA Lead will oversee the entire QA lifecycle for projects within a particular line of business, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals. This includes defining test strategies, ensuring coverage, and managing risks across projects.
- Leadership in QA practices: The QA Lead will coordinate and lead a team of testers, driving collaboration between the testing and development teams, ensuring efficient project execution, and maintaining high product quality.
- Improved efficiency and accountability: With responsibilities like test planning, test data management, and environment monitoring, the QA Lead will streamline QA processes, improve resource utilization, and provide clear reporting, improving accountability for the team's performance.
- Risk mitigation: The QA Lead will proactively identify and mitigate risks in the testing process, ensuring that defects are caught early and resolved effectively.
- Quality deliverables: The QA Lead will ensure that QA deliverables meet quality, schedule, and effort expectations, which is crucial for the success of projects. By leading validation activities, they will enhance the traceability and effectiveness of testing.
Required skills to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or any related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in QA and testing
- ISTQB certified
- Good communication and presentation skills
About the team:
You will be reporting to the General Manager PMO and Transformation.
What equips you for the role:
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science
- Certification: Relevant professional qualifications are desirable (e.g., ISTQB foundational level or certified advanced or expert tester)
- Experience: With 5-7 years of experience in QA.
- Skills: Proficiency level in test management tools like Tricentis TOSCA, JIRA, and QMetry.
