Job description / Role
The purpose of a Civil QA/QC Engineer is to implement quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure that civil projects adhere to ADNOC defined standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, thereby guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant structures and infrastructure.
Inspection and Partial maintenance of existing civil associated cooling water structures. The structures are exposed to sea water as well as buried, which need to be excavated and repaired.
Partial maintenance includes – Blasting, skin repair, deep skin repair, crack injection, grouting, v-groove cutting and re-painting of the concrete structures.
Requirements:
• Developing QA/QC Plans: Create and implement quality assurance and quality control plans for civil engineering projects, outlining procedures, standards, and inspection protocols.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, codes, and industry standards throughout the project execution.
• Quality Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Testing and Evaluation: Coordinate and oversee material testing and evaluation processes to confirm compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conformance issues, deviations from specifications, and quality deficiencies. Implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation. Prepare and distribute regular QA/QC reports to project stakeholders.
• Supplier and Subcontractor Evaluation: Evaluate the quality and performance of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they meet project requirements and standards.
• Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on QA/QC requirements, procedures, and best practices.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure that QA/QC activities align with safety regulations and protocols. Collaborate with safety personnel to promote a safe working environment on-site.
• Client Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding QA/QC matters. Address client concerns, provide updates on QA/QC activities, and ensure client satisfaction with project quality.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks to quality and compliance and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
• Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate QA/QC processes seamlessly into project planning and execution.
• Final Acceptance and Handover: Verify that all QA/QC requirements have been met before project completion. Facilitate final acceptance inspections and documentation for handover to clients.
• By fulfilling these responsibilities, a Civil QA/QC Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that civil engineering projects are executed with high quality, adherence to standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for preparing Quality Plan that supports the project and clients’ requirements on quality assurance and quality control. Ensure that non-conforming project activities including potential nonconformances are identified and resolved through approved quality procedures.
• Provide independent quality control audit of Client vendors/contractors and sub-contractor.
• Ensure all Contractors’ QA/QC control measures and procedures are documented, implemented and auditable and fully comply with all Client and regulatory agency requirements.
