QC Civil Inspector

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QC Civil Inspector to join our dynamic team in the oil and gas sector. This role involves overseeing and ensuring the quality of civil construction works related to pipeline projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering, quality control, and inspection processes, with a focus on safety, compliance, and project specifications. As a QC Civil Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in our projects while working in a challenging and rewarding environment in the UAE.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of civil construction works to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve quality control plans, inspection and test plans, and method statements for civil works.
- Monitor and report on construction activities, identifying any non-conformance and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure quality assurance and control during all stages of construction.
- Perform regular site visits and inspections to verify the implementation of civil engineering practices, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, documentation, and records to facilitate project tracking and compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality management systems and procedures to enhance project delivery.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality-related issues and concerns, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Train and mentor junior staff and contractors on quality control processes and best practices in civil construction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to civil engineering and quality assurance.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and inspection within the oil and gas or pipeline industry.
- Proven knowledge of civil engineering construction practices, standards, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies, including ISO standards.
- Experience with inspection tools, techniques, and documentation practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in using computer software for documentation and reporting (e.g., MS Office, project management tools).
- Certification in Quality Control/Quality Assurance (e.g., AWS, NACE) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site in various locations within the UAE.
